Colorado State Fair Micro Brewery Awards - 2008
Gold Medal - URCA Vanilla Porter
The Vanilla porter won it's third straight gold at the fair in the spiced/herb category.
Gold Medal - Dockside Dubble
Our new Belgian Double won a gold in the Belgian Strong category. This was Jim's recipe. Lachlan now has a lot of pressure on his tripple to perform in the big show (GABF) in a month.
Bronze Medal - Bligh's Old Ale
This is our HMS Bounty Old Ale which we aged in a Stranahan's Whiskey barrel.
HMS Bounty Old Wins Bronze At World Beer Cup
Our HMS Bounty Old Ale, won the Bronze Award, in the Old Ale category, at the 2008 World Beer Cup ®, in San Diego, CA on Saturday April, 19. There were 2,864 beers entered from 644 breweries in 58 countries, judged in the competition's 91 beer-style categories. This is the second time we've been honored with a World Beer Cup award. At the last competition in 2006, our HMS Victory ESB won gold in the Special or Best Bitter category.
Our HMS Victory ESB, won the Gold Medal Award, in the Special Bitter or Best Bitter category, at the 2006 World Beer Cup ®, announced in Seattle, WA on April, 14. The competition is open to over 3,800 breweries in 100 countries. There were 2,221 beers from 540 breweries in 56 countries, judged in the competition's 85 beer-style categories. There were 23 entries in the Special Bitter or Best Bitter category, and HMS Victory ESB was deemed the best. According the to the Brewers Association, a Gold Award winner is "A world class beer that accurately exemplifies the specified style, displaying the proper balance of taste, aroma and appearance".
