More Awards at the Colorado State Fair
Microbrewery Competition!!

The Colorado State Fair Microbrewery Competition has been growing every year.  This year there were 40 more entries from around the country then last.  Even Sam Adams entered this year.  We were fortunate enough to get three medals at the competition.

GOLD MEDAL - Urca Vanilla Porter successfully defend the Herb and Spice category with another gold in 2007!

SILVER MEDAL - HMS Victory ESB was awarded a silver medal in the Extra Special Bitter category.

BRONZE MEDAL - The Paragon Apricot Blonde received a bronze medal in the fruit beer category.

Our HMS Victory ESB, won the Gold Medal Award, in the Special Bitter or Best Bitter category, at the 2006 World Beer Cup ®, announced in Seattle, WA on April, 14. The competition is open to over 3,800 breweries in 100 countries. There were 2,221 beers from 540 breweries in 56 countries, judged in the competition's 85 beer-style categories. There were 23 entries in the Special Bitter or Best Bitter category, and HMS Victory ESB was deemed the best. According the to the Brewers Association, a Gold Award winner is "A world class beer that accurately exemplifies the specified style, displaying the proper balance of taste, aroma and appearance". We think so too... stop in some time and try a pint... and judge for yourself.
